Cookies – abridged information

  1. What are cookies?

Cookies are IT data, in particular text files, that is stored in the end devices of users (computers, mobile phones, etc.) and intended for using websites. These files allow recognizing the device of the user and displaying the website accordingly in a way adjusted to the user’s individual preferences. Cookies usually contain the name of the website they come from, the time of their storage on the end device and a unique number.

  2. What do we use cookies for?

Cookies are included in the HTTP protocol used for communication between an online server and a browser. They consist of: a key describing the value name, values and the lifetime after expiration of which a browser should remove a given cookie file. The majority of their functions are standard for settings provided by browsers. Cookies are used to facilitate the use of the website and to adjust its content to the user’s preferences, as well as to increase usability and customisation of website content.

  3. What kind of “cookies” do we use?

There are two types of cookies: ‘session’ cookies and ‘persistent’ cookies. The former are temporary files that remain on the user’s device until the moment of logging out from a website or shutting down the software (browser), after which they are automatically deleted from the user’s device. ‘Persistent’ cookies are stored in the end device of the user for a specific time set in parameters of cookie files or until these files are manually removed by the user.

The ‘cookies’ we employ are intended mainly to facilitate using our website from the user’s perspective, for example by ‘remembering’ information that has already been provided so that the user does not have to provide them every time.

  4. Privacy policy and cookies

When the user uses our website, we use cookies that enable us to identify the user’s browser or device – cookies collect various kinds of information which, in principle, do not constitute personal data (they do not enable identification of the user). Certain information, depending on the content and mode of use may, however, be related to a specific person and therefore be considered personal data.

Access to information regarding the activity of users on the Internet via cookies will also enable us to perform market analysis and statistical analysis.

The information collected and included in cookies may be stored after the end of browser session, which enables us to use them during the user’s next visit, for example.

  5. Third party cookies

The cookies we use mainly serve the purpose of optimising user service during use of our website. However, we collaborate with other companies within the scope of their marketing (advertising) and statistical activity. For the purposes of that collaboration, a browser or other software installed on the user’s device also saves the cookies coming from entities who conduct this type of marketing activity. You can familiarise yourself with the list of our trusted partners in our privacy policy document.

  6. Deletion / blocking of cookies

Remember that you can manage your consent to the use of cookies through your browser.

Normally, browsers or other software installed on a computer (or a different device of the user connected to the Internet) allow placement of a specific type of cookies on such a device. These settings can be changed in web browser settings in such a way as to block automatic handling of cookies or to notify of every instance of their transmission to the user’s devices. The consent given to using this technology may also be modified or withdrawn at any time in this manner (blocking saving cookies in the future).

Detailed information about the possibilities and methods of handling cookies are available in the software (web browser) settings.

It is essential to remember that the rejection of cookies will only apply to a specific browser. This means that the same actions will have to be taken in the case of every other browser used on the same or another device.
